Plain terms, no fine print.
What you pay for, what is included, and what happens at renewal. Last updated 11 September 2026.
01Scope
These terms cover Obstack subscriptions bought on obstack.it or through a quote from us. Obstack is sold by Netter srl, P.IVA IT03569900545, Via Indipendenza, 06081 Assisi (PG), Italy. Where a signed order form or master agreement differs, that document prevails.
List prices are in euros. US dollar prices are 20% above the euro list, rounded to the dollar. Prices exclude VAT. VAT is added where it applies; business customers in other EU countries with a valid VAT number are invoiced under reverse charge. The invoice is issued in the currency chosen at checkout.
02Plans
Every plan is a flat monthly fee. Nothing on the invoice is multiplied by a node count, a host count, a user count, or the volume of telemetry you send. Adding servers to your fleet does not change the price.
What separates the plans is the infrastructure the backend runs on and the support that comes with it. Starter runs on shared capacity; Go, Pro and Max each get a backend of their own.
| Plan | Obstack Cloud | Your own hardware | Backend | Support |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $59€49 | Not available | Shared infrastructure, rate limited | Best effort, email |
| Go | $599€499 | $479€399 | One node · 4 cores · 32 GB RAM · 500 GB NVMe | Tier 1, in business hours |
| Pro | $1,799€1,499 | $1,439€1,199 | One node · 16 cores · 64 GB RAM · 8 TB NVMe | Tier 2, in working hours |
| Max | $5,399€4,499 | $4,319€3,599 | 3 nodes · 16 cores · 64 GB RAM · 8 TB NVMe each | Tier 3, around the clock |
| Enterprise | Quoted | Quoted | Designed with you | Tier 3, named engineer |

All figures are per month, excluding VAT. Air-gapped deployments, offline updates, sites with no outbound connectivity, multi-region deployments and anything else outside this list are quoted as Enterprise.
03Deployment and the on-premise credit
Go, Pro and Max run either on Obstack Cloud or on hardware you already own. The software, the modules and the support are identical; only who buys the servers changes.
On Obstack Cloud we provision and operate the backend described in the plan, in the EU or US datacenter you choose, and the object storage that comes with it. On your own hardware you supply machines matching the plan's sizing, plus S3-compatible storage, and install using the Helm chart or ask for deployment assistance over your VPN. Because we no longer buy that hosting, the list price is reduced by a fixed credit: $120€100 per month on Go, $360€300 per month on Pro, $1,080€900 per month on Max.
Starter exists only on Obstack Cloud and carries no credit.
Moving between deployments is a change of subscription, not a new order. We agree a cutover date and prorate the difference to your renewal.
04What is not counted
On Go, Pro and Max nothing is metered. Linux hosts, virtual machines, Kubernetes worker nodes, pods and containers are not counted. Ingest, egress and queries are not counted. Grafana users, dashboards, alert rules, incidents, pages and on-call users are not counted. Obstack does not meter Eagle queries. Model-provider tokens and inference hosting are charged separately by your provider.
There are no true-ups, no overage invoices and no retroactive adjustments. An incident that triples your telemetry does not change the invoice.
The single limit is the capacity of the backend your plan describes. If a fleet outgrows it, we tell you and agree a move to the next plan; we never add charges automatically.
05Starter rate limiting
Starter runs on capacity shared with other Starter tenants. Ingest is rate limited and best effort: when the bucket is empty, the endpoint sheds the batch rather than queueing it.
A shed batch is answered with 429 Too Many Requests and 503 Service Unavailable and a Retry-After header. An OpenTelemetry collector configured with its normal retry and backoff will resend it; the OTLP exporter does this by default. Telemetry that is shed is never billed.
The limits themselves are not published. They follow the capacity of the shared tier and change with it, and a collector that honours the status codes does not need to know them. If you need a guaranteed ingest rate, that is what a dedicated backend on Go, Pro and Max buys.
Starter takes no add-ons. EagleMCP is included. EagleSRE is not available on Starter. There is no on-premise option and no availability commitment.
06Add-ons
Bee, Eagle, Grafana and EagleMCP are included in every stack tier. EagleMCP has no separate connector or per-tool-call charge. EagleSRE is in preview, by request; its proposed production price is $239€199 per month flat on Go and it is included in Pro and Max at launch. It is not offered on Starter. Production billing or entitlement starts only after general availability and an agreed activation.
Connect your own model endpoint. Model-provider tokens, inference hosting, SMS and phone charges are paid separately to your providers. Obstack does not resell unlimited inference in the stack price.
Extra object storage is sold in blocks of 10 TB at $179€149 per block per month, on top of the allowance the plan includes.
Add-ons can be added at any time, prorated to the renewal date, and removed at renewal. The yearly and 3-year billing discounts apply to the plan; storage blocks are not discounted.
07Storage
Go, Pro and Max include 10 TB of Obstack object storage, in the EU or US datacenter you choose, measured as compressed data at rest. Starter includes 1 TB.
Egress, API requests and early deletion are included. There is no minimum storage duration, which matters because retention deletes telemetry every day.
When your capacity is full, the oldest data expires first. We warn you at 80% and 95%. You are never billed for overage.
Increase capacity at any time in 10 TB blocks, prorated to your renewal date; reduce it at renewal. On your own hardware you can point GreptimeDB at any S3-compatible bucket or local disk instead, at no charge from us.
08Max evaluation and paid activation
We give a 30-day evaluation at no cost, with no card and no commitment. Install the Max edition on your Kubernetes cluster using the Obstack Helm chart and a 30-day evaluation license. Keep the installation and data when you activate a paid self-hosted Go, Pro or Max plan; its entitlements and required resources follow the selected plan.
The self-hosted Max evaluation is delivered as a Helm chart with a time-limited license. You provide Kubernetes and storage, install the chart with the supplied configuration and evaluate it using your own telemetry. Deployment assistance is available. The public chart link is published when the release is ready; until then, request the chart and license by email.
The 30-day period starts when the evaluation license is issued. At expiry the evaluation license ceases to authorize use; there is no automatic paid order or charge. Complete paid activation before expiry to continue under the appropriate license.
To convert, choose a paid self-hosted Go, Pro or Max plan and provide your evaluation license or customer ID. Following payment we supply the paid license and activation instructions for the existing Helm installation. Retain the installation and data; licensed features, support and required resources follow the selected plan, and resource changes may be necessary. Starter is Cloud only.
Evaluation access does not include a production SLA or the paid Max support response commitment. EagleSRE remains in preview. External model and notification-provider charges are separate.
09Custom work
Work beyond the standard setup is not included in any subscription. This covers, for example, building dashboards for your services, configuring alert rules and notification routing, and migrating dashboards, alerts, workflows and incidents from your current tools.
Custom work is billed on time and materials. We estimate it in a written quote that you approve before any work starts, and invoice the time actually spent.
10Discounts
Yearly billing takes 10% off the plan and its add-ons. A 3-year term takes 15% off the same fees, is billed yearly, and locks those prices for the whole term. Storage blocks are not discounted. Monthly billing is at list.
There are no volume discounts, because there is no volume to discount: the price does not depend on how many nodes, users or gigabytes you put through it.
11Billing and payment
Subscriptions are billed monthly at list, or yearly in advance. 3-year terms are billed yearly. Pay by bank transfer within 30 days of the invoice date. Card payments are not accepted.
If an invoice is more than 30 days overdue, Cloud access may be suspended after 14 days’ written notice. Self-hosted license keys, git access and updates are suspended the same way; copies you already have remain usable under the PolyForm Internal Use License for internal business operations.
12Term, renewal and cancellation
Monthly subscriptions renew each month unless cancelled in writing before the next invoice. Yearly and 3-year subscriptions renew for the same length of term unless either side cancels in writing at least 30 days before the renewal date.
Yearly renewals can rise by at most 5% over the previous price. 3-year terms are locked for their full length. Monthly list can rise on 30 days’ notice, at most 5% in a calendar year.
A first order can be cancelled within 30 days for a full refund. After that, fees for the current term are not refunded, except as service credits.
13Service level on Obstack Cloud
On Pro and Max, the OTLP ingest endpoint and the Grafana and query interfaces are available at least 100% of each calendar month. Max runs a 3-node cluster, so a single node failure is not an outage. Maintenance announced at least 5 days ahead, and outages caused by the customer or by force majeure, do not count.
Go runs on a single node and carries no availability commitment: planned maintenance takes the backend down for a window we announce in advance. Starter is best effort and carries no commitment of any kind.
| Monthly availability | Service credit |
|---|---|
| Below 99.9% | 10% of that month’s fees |
| Below 99.0% | 25% of that month’s fees |
| Below 95.0% | 50% of that month’s fees |
Credits are applied to the next invoice when claimed within 30 days of the end of the month.
14Support
Response targets measure the time to a first reply from an engineer. The tier names the engineers who answer: the first line handles known issues and configuration, the second the stack itself, the third the people who build it.
| Plan | Tier | Channel | P1 · service down | P2 · degraded | P3 · question |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Best effort | Best effort | Best effort | Best effort | |
| Go | Tier 1 | Next business day | Next business day | 2 business days | |
| Pro | Tier 2 | Email and ticketing | 2 business hours | 4 business hours | 1 business day |
| Max | Tier 3 | Email, ticketing and phone | 30 minutes, 24/7 | 2 hours, 24/7 | 1 business day |
| Enterprise | Tier 3, named engineer | Email, ticketing, phone and a shared channel | Per contract, from 15 minutes | Per contract | Per contract |

Business hours are 09:00–18:00 CET, Monday to Friday, excluding Italian public holidays. Max and Enterprise are answered around the clock, every day of the year.
15Self-hosted licenses
The first month of a self-hosted subscription, Bee is delivered under a license key: Ubuntu packages you run, without source.
After that first month the PolyForm Internal Use License 1.0.0 applies to Bee. We send an agreement to sign. Once it is signed, you are granted git access to the source. You may use and modify that software for the internal business operations of you and your company. You may not distribute it, sublicense it or transfer the license.
An active paid subscription is how you keep git access and updates. When the subscription ends, git access stops. Copies you already have remain usable under PolyForm Internal Use for internal use.
EagleSRE preview scope and any separately managed model hosting are specified in the evaluation agreement or order form.
The open-source components of the stack (Beyla, Vector, GreptimeDB, Grafana and Prometheus Alertmanager) stay under their own licenses. The subscription pays for Bee and Eagle, the additional products agreed in your order, the hosting where we provide it, our integration work and our support.
16Your data
You own your telemetry. On Obstack Cloud we process it only to run the service, in the EU or US datacenter you chose, under a data processing agreement per Article 28 GDPR, available on request with the list of sub-processors.
Export at any time with SQL, PromQL or the raw Parquet files. When a Cloud subscription ends you have 30 days to export; we then delete tenant data within a further 30 days.
17Liability
Each party’s total liability under a subscription is capped at the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.
18Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. Disputes go to the competent court for Assisi, Italy, where Netter srl has its registered office.
